The
Mariners Journey
Burdened by an
extraordinary enormous albatross wing and the relentless desire for redemption,
The
Mariners Journey
combines ritual, a journey between two extraordinary church buildings and aerial
performances at Holy Trinity church.
The Ancient
Mariner, wearing an extraordinary “narrative” coat, journeys through the urban
landscape of Leeds. Through the
incessant need to illustrate the heinous act of killing the albatross, this
highly visual & physical performance re-interprets the original text as a
crime against nature and the environment.
The aerial
performances at Holy Trinity take place within thematically linked art work,
“Making Waves” curated by arts@trinity and The Den Project, www.holytrinityleeds.co.uk
